Woman’s House

For the past 25 years, my work has embodied a continuous and multifaceted
perspective on the status and social perception of women in the family. The early work “Woman’s House” illuminates the identity of motherhood and the position and life of women in the patriarchy. The living room landscape in which friends live with their children, including my self-portrait, describes the daily lives and anxieties of women in their 30s who have undergone great mental migration due to motherhood and patriarchy. Going into the second half, the work of “Women’s House” pays attention to the holiday landscape where more than three generations gather, asks about gender and generational identity within the patriarchal family structure, and begins to evoke the meaning of family with a wider perspective. The work of “Women’s House” was conducted from 1999 to 2004.
