Lives and works in Antwerp, Belgium
By placing female models in an indeterminate space, I create a frozen moment that looks like our dream just before awakening: there is no logic to be found.
These women are balancing on a thin line between the childlike and the sensual, the fragile and the destructive, the tragic and the playful without falling on one side.
According to my planning, I set up the scenes and fix the pose of the models as if they were dolls. Everything is under my control.
At the same time, I leave a bit of space for what happens on the spot. A model can show an extremely beautiful pose just before she rests her arm. I go with the flow.
These models might look like dolls, but after all, they are human who breathe and feel the pain.
